This policy explains how long we keep different kinds of records and why. As a federally licensed firearms dealer, some records must be retained by law and cannot be deleted on request. This page supplements our Privacy Policy.
Why We Retain Records
We keep records for three reasons: to comply with federal and state firearms law, to meet tax and payment-processing requirements, and to operate the store (fulfilling orders, providing support, and preventing fraud). Federal recordkeeping obligations override a request to delete the affected records.
Firearms Transaction Records
- ATF Form 4473 and our Acquisition & Disposition (bound book) records are retained for the periods required of Federal Firearms Licensees under the Gun Control Act and ATF regulations. When a license is discontinued, these records are transferred to the ATF as required by law.
- Background-check (NICS) outcomes are retained as permitted and required by applicable rules.
- These records cannot be deleted at a customer’s request while the retention obligation applies.
Order, Payment & Tax Records
Order history, invoices, shipping records, and the transaction records provided by our payment processor are retained for the periods required by tax law and card-network rules (commonly several years). We retain only tokenized payment references — we do not store full card numbers.
Account & Marketing Data
- Account information is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for support and legal claims.
- Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
- Website analytics and logs are kept on a rolling basis for security and performance.
Your Choices
You may ask us to delete marketing data and close your account. We will honor those requests except where we are legally required to keep the underlying records (for example, ATF transaction records and tax records).
